Modernization/Seismic RetrofitS
Nearly a third of all our business is in Modernizations, Seismic Retrofits and Remodel work. Our experience includes Modernizations to multi-building and multi-campus school projects, fast tracked spring break and summer projects, open store remodels, as well as full blown seismic upgrades to existing buildings and roof systems.
Clients call on Core Contracting when they have fast tracked projects that require extensive front end planning and coordination. We have the ability to man projects at critical times in the construction project when others can’t meet the demanding schedules. We have been called on to replace cracked glulams beams, broken or bent bar joists and other failed roof systems that were either overloaded with equipment or that had damage caused by clogged roof drains.
We are experts in this line of work and have partnerships in place with Structural Engineers that can facilitate the design and permitting aspects of the project to get your building back up and running smoothly and within critical timeframes. Roofing Structures
Core Contracting has extensive roof structure construction experience and the ability to build or install literally any type of roof structure that can be engineered. Whether it is building timber and glulam trusses onsite, erecting prefabricated plated or pin connected trusses, or installing steel bar joists and girders, we have you covered.
Panelized roof structures are the most popular, cost-efficient form of roof structures for large masonry and concrete tilt-up buildings. Core Contracting has an experienced staff of carpenters and welders on staff that specialize in panelized roof structures, including both all-wood panelized roof systems and hybrid roof structures using metal bar joists with solid sawn subpurlins.
We also have the ability to pre-build glulam and timber trusses either on-site, or at our own facility and we have experience building and erecting barrel or bow string truss roof systems as well.

Siding & Decking
From hand planed basket-weaved outside corners on cedar shingle siding to fiber cement sidings and IPE Decking, Core Contracting has the knowledge, experience and craftsman on hand to install the most complicated siding, decking and specialized products used in todays architecture.
Our specialized staff of finish carpenters are well versed in installation methods of both hardwoods and manufactured products, including Longboard, TimberTech Azek, Resysta, James Hardie Products, Allura, Certainteed, Nichiha, IPE, Mangaris, Teak, Ash and Thermory to name a few.
General Contractors, Construction Managers and Developers alike, all turn to Core Contracting when every detail matters. We take the extra steps when installing siding and decking to make sure that the final product exceeds expectations in quality and aesthetics. For example, we straight edge and shim walls to ensure a straight plane, we educate our staff on proper waterproofing methods in order to meet or exceed the manufacturers requirements and we seal the end grain of all our exposed wood products prior to installation for increased longevity.
