The new Paradise Elementary School in Paradise, California, rises on the site of the original campus lost in the 2018 Camp Fire, and is a wood-framed symbol of the town’s return. Built for Paradise Unified School District with Otto Construction, the single-story Type V-B campus is organized as a family of sprinklered wood structures: a Multi-Purpose/Administration Building, classroom buildings, a Kindergarten building, a Library/STEM building, a restroom building, and future classroom buildings planned to complete the campus.
